What the Account Closer does

On Solana, every token you have ever held lives in its own SPL token account, and each of those accounts must hold a small rent-exempt deposit of about 0.002 SOL. After you sell or move out a full balance, the account usually stays open with nothing in it — quietly locking up your SOL. This tool scans your wallet, finds every zero-balance token account, and closes the ones you pick to return that rent to you.

When to use it

Run it whenever you've been actively trading, airdrop-hunting, or minting tokens and want to recover the SOL trapped in leftover accounts. Because closures are batched, you sign once per batch and pay only the network fee, making it efficient even for wallets with dozens of empty accounts. The reclaimed rent goes straight back to your wallet.

Safety

Only zero-balance accounts are eligible, so you can never lose tokens by closing them. Everything is non-custodial — you approve each transaction yourself. When you're done reclaiming rent, explore the rest of the tools hub, create a new token, or pull an NFT holder snapshot.

Frequently asked questions

Why do empty token accounts hold SOL?

Every SPL token account on Solana must stay rent-exempt, which locks roughly 0.002 SOL inside it. When you sell or transfer away an entire balance, the account often stays open with zero tokens — and that rent stays locked until you close it.

Is it safe to close empty accounts?

Yes. The tool only lists accounts with a zero balance, so closing them never destroys tokens. Closing simply removes the empty account and returns its rent deposit to your wallet.

How much SOL can I reclaim?

Each closed account returns about 0.00204 SOL. The total depends on how many empty accounts your wallet has accumulated — wallets that trade many tokens can reclaim a meaningful amount.

Do I have to sign for every account?

No. Closures are batched, so you sign once per batch and pay only the tiny network fee. The reclaimed rent always returns to your own wallet — the tool is fully non-custodial.
